Hi,
For EHP 7 , you don't have to install business package. You can do role upload from backend.
Refer below note:
1685257 - Upload of SAP delivered NWBC Roles to SAP Netweaver Portal
Which roles are you trying to configure?
If you are trying to configure UI5 based functionality you can refer below blog.
Configuration of UI5 based landing page in HR Renewal 2.0(Initial Shipment)
If you are trying to configure WDA based EHP7 functionality then you need to do role upload from backend
SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_3
SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC_3
Refer below blog for WDA based EHP7 role configuration:
Step by Step guide for Upgrading ESS or MSS in WDA
Hope this helps.

Hi all,
I'm in a portal upgrade process from version 7.0 to version 7.4.
We have the old portal and in another machine the new portal, we have transported all content from old to new portal.
The problem is with a transaction iview, we have a iview which call a transaction (no standard Z) the transaction open a table and you can select one row for display more information about this registerin another screen.
The problem is with this last screen with IE11 not open, but with others browser( Chrome, Firefox) it i s open correctly.
In our search we have found that if we change the property iview "Launch in new window" with -->Display in separate headerless portal window( standard mode) the screen is display correctly.
But the current configuracion of this property is "display in content area" , all iviews are display in content area and we want to display the content in the content area as it is now.
Please can you help me with this problem?
Thanks and best reagards
Mónica
For me, calling the Logout component from a third party application also solved the problem terminating the portal session:
https://<portal-url>:50001/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.LogOutComponent?logout_submit=true
In my case I called the LogoutComponent as the Logout URL of a Fiori Launchpad configured on an AS ABAP
Hi Ankur,
Thank you for your response. It is very helpful.
Before customizing the Web dynpro java application I have to setup NWDI.
Kindly provide the steps if possible.
And the requirement is adding date filed into table for capturing every Reimbursement creation date, So that any ABAP modification required?

Hello Monica,
This might be due to rendering issues with new IE.

Hi Durga,
Unfortunately very little can be deduced from the information provided by you:
1. what exactly is issue and under what circumstances does it appear?
2. what is portal datasource?
3. are you using SSO? Are connector tests successful in portal?
4. is the issue happening for only one module like HR? or many?
5. what is the target system?
6. issue occurs for all users?
7. are all systems in same domain?
8. are we dealing with portal on internet scenario?
9. are userid's same in portal and backend system?

Resolved after deleting the navigation cache....
Hi All,
We have a requirement where in we are planning to store all the files (around 10000 pdf files amounting to around 75GB total size) in SAP KM folders and would like to access the files from Webdynpro abap application. Please let me know any KM related api's for WD abap usage.
Also please suggest if storing 75GB of data in KM repository will result in any performance issues in SAP Portal.
Other option is to store the files in sap content server and would like to retrieve them from WD Abap application . Do suggest the suitable bapis for WD application to interact with content server for files retrieval.
thanks in advance

Hi Ankur,
I applicated the note 1814711 - SAP applications iViews in EP: Rendering Modes
1. Change parameter Browser document Mode with this value IE=5, IE=EmulateIE7, in Browser document Mode iview
2. Also I add in the ECC system in the service webgui the parameter SAP-IE= EmulateIE8
but the problem continues.
My portal version is SAP NW 7.4 SP 10

Hi Experts,
We would like to modify default email message content for Wiki page. We have SAP Netweaver Portal incorporate with Wikis & Forums add-on.
In Wiki space,
After creating & publishing the page, Action --> Send as e-mail --> Message >> Include a link to the page (initially selected).
Here we have some default message content like,
Follow this link to see the page:
https://sap.com/wiki/docs/DOC-1110
(If the link does not work, try copying and pasting it from this e-mail into your browser's address bar.)
In the above standard content we need to modify/add some contents by default....
So let us know where we can modify this template...
Note: we are unable find this template under, Wiki Administrator >> System >> Settings >> E-Mail Templates (Manage e-mail templates).
Please share our inputs!
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
:D
We have EP 7.4 SP13. I changed Document mode from IE=EmulateIE7 to IE=Edge in our Classic Framework Page. Then I noticed a few differences in IE even though the theme stays unchanged. The first difference is a small box at the very left top corner. The HTML code for the box is
<input name="htmlb_submit" tabindex="-1" style="top: -1px; width: 0px; height: 0px; position: absolute;" onclick="return htmlbCheckSubmit('htmlb_2019_htmlb_849');" type="submit" value="Submit Query">
In Firefox the style for the input becomes "display:none".
The second difference is the grey bar at the very top. Below is the HTML code - note this code shows TWICE in the HTML source file.
<iframe width="0" height="0" src="/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.mdc?com.sap.portal.mdc.action=SEND_FORMS" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Firefox, IE, and Chrome automatically add 2px border to every single iframe if border width is not specified. This is how we get a grey bar on the top.
Any notes, suggestions?
Hi Ankur,
While importing application war file into NWDS we are getting below errors.
1. A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'sap.com~ess~in~claims'
2. Project 'sap.com~ess~in~claims' can not reference it self.
3. The project can not buit until build path errors are resolved
4. The project was not built since it depends on 'sap.com~ess~in~claims' which has build path errors.
Please advice to move further.
Regards,
Vamshi

Thanks for your reply Rohit,
I want to add Appraisal document link for MSS users. When I go to MSS there are already two iviews are present for appraisal document. But they are disabled. So I made it visible.
But now when I see these links from MSS I get following errors.
Any idea how should I display appraisal document link for MSS.
Hi Amit,
I guess the two appraisal documents were marked as invisible. Is that correct?
The reason for this was because these iViews were being used for OBN (read: Object Based Navigation).
The error that you are getting is because these iViews do not have a reference of the appraisal document that needs to be opened.
Please check the following:
1. Appraisal documents have been assigned to the user in R/3.
2. When you open Performance Management, the user's appraisal documents are visible.
3. If you are still getting an error, then please check the dump in ST22.
Let me know in case of any concerns.
Best Regards,
Rohit
Hi all,
we are using a SAP Netweaver Portal 7.4.
We have configured the list of supported languages in UME to only allow "en,de,fr". For standard identity management application when changing the user language this works fine and only those three languages are displayed.
But now we need to create a custom personalization component (AbstractPortalComponent) and want to retrieve the shortened list of available languages.
Unfortunately following coding will not return the custom configured list but the complete list configured by SAP:
ILocaleListService localeService = (ILocaleListService) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(ILocaleListService.KEY);
List<Locale> allLocales = (List<Locale>) localeService.getListOfLocalesOrderedByDisplayName(userLocale);
List<Locale> customLocales = (List<Locale>) localeService.getListOfCustomizedLocalesOrderedByDisplayName(userLocale);
List<Locale> persLocales = (List<Locale>) localeService.getListOfPersLocalesOrderedByDisplayName(userLocale);
List<Locale> sourceLocales = (List<Locale>) localeService.getListOfSourceLocalesOrderedByDisplayName(userLocale);
List<Locale> targetLocales = (List<Locale>) localeService.getListOfTargetLocalesOrderedByDisplayName(userLocale);
So, how can we retrieve the list of the customized list of locales?

René
Hi Dayong
As per my understanding if the issue you are facing is seen only on IE then it is due to the rendering issue that is generally faced with Internet Explorer.
For that kindly refer to the below scn document and carry each of the steps given in it.
9 Steps to Solve Portal Rendering Issues in IE
Mostly the above document will solve the issue you are facing.
